Chestnut Hill Summer Campers Pay Tribute To Olympics
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Dozens of costumed youngsters from ESF Summer Camp delighted their parents with a musical performance at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy in Chestnut Hill Friday, celebrating the Rio Olympics.
With a giant Olympic backdrop behind them, children ages 3-8 years old performed choreographed musical numbers.
"It's an opportunity for campers to sing songs and go through a journey of what it means to be anything you want to be," explains site director Diane Sessions.
Among the performers, seven-year-old Quinn:
"In 'Don't Ever Give Up,' it means when you're scared of something, don't be afraid," she says. "I will try to stand tall and be a leader for all of my friends."
Quinn says soccer is her favorite Olympic sport is soccer. As for 8-year old Briel, who also performed in 'Possibilities:'
"If I were to pick a sport in the Olympics… archery, fencing or swimming."
