Students Have Fun Learning About STEM At Franklin Institute

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- 40 students from an elementary school in the Kingsessing neighborhood of Philadelphia were treated to a day at the Franklin Institute Science Museum thanks to the National Marketing Society in town for their annual conference.
From the giant walk through beating heart, to the Pixar films exhibition, students from the Mitchell School were having fun while learning about STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
"When we were in the planetarium and all the stuff was above us," was 10-year-old Brooklyn Spraggans favorite part of the visit.
She says she learned about planets, solar systems, and things like that.
"We are having our society conference here in Philadelphia this week, and one component of the event is that we like to give back to the community where we are holding the conference. We have come to the Franklin institute with 5th, 6th, 7th graders and we are showing them the STEM museum, it's wonderful," said Paula Ryan, with the Society for Marketing Services.
The organization handles marketing and business development for architects, engineers, and contractors.
