Roku Devices First To Get CBS All Access Service

NEW YORK (CBS) -- For all those Roku users out there, binge-watching just got a whole lot better.

CBS All Access, the network's digital subscription video on demand live streaming service, is coming to the Roku platform, upgrading current CBS content and offering much, much more.

The network announced that for $5.99 a month, Roku player and Roku TV users can access thousands of episodes from current seasons and previous seasons of CBS shows like "Madam Secretary" and "The Odd Couple" as well as classic shows on demand like "Star Trek" and "Cheers."

The new service also allows users to stream local CBS television stations live from 14 major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Philadelphia, with more being added soon.

And if that isn't enough, subscribers will also be able to use the service on their iOS and/or Android devices.

"The launch of the CBS All Access Channel marks the first of many connected device platforms we'll be bringing this service to in the coming months," said Marc DeBevoise, the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Entertainment, Sports and News for CBS Interactive in a press release. "This launch brings us even closer to delivering on our promise to give our viewers access to more of CBS's world-class programming on whichever platform they choose."

The CBS All Access Channel will replace the current CBS Channel on Roku platforms, giving users more than just clips to watch.

All of this is major news for CBS lovers and Roku users after CBS announced the on demand service back in 2014.

At the moment, Roku is the only device that offers CBS All Access.
