Spring Cleaning? Don't Forget Your Social Networks
By Melony Roy
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Spring is finally here and if you're doing a little cleaning don't forget your social networks.
The start of Spring is a good time to take a look at your passwords, photos and privacy settings, especially if you are active on multiple platforms.
Delaware-based Internet Business Strategist Chris Curtis Crawford has some spring cleaning tips your Facebook page: "With all the people who interact with you and who look at your social media as a gauge of who you are as a person, it's really important to make sure that everybody is getting the same positive impression of you."
Curtis also suggests you look at the people you are connected to.
"You may want to start cutting down on the number of people you have and weed them out by looking at the content that they're presenting to you. Is it helping you grow? Is it making you productive? Is it making you laugh? Do you have any use for it at all? If not, then you can get rid of that person."
And what about all those photos?
"Make sure all of the photos out there represent you in a positive light, of course."
Spring is also a good time to change those passwords. "For the average person I'd say try to do it at least once a year. Also you want to have a capital letter, a number and if you can a symbol."
