Special Domestic Violence Ceremony To Be Held In South Jersey

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (CBS) - To mark National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a special ceremony will be held today in Mount Holly, Burlington County.

It's called the "Silent Witness Project" and it features life-size silhouettes to represent the victims of fatal domestic violence in Burlington County.

The event is being held at 2 p.m. at the Burlington County Community College to promote peace, healing and awareness about deomstic violence.

The latest statistics on domestic violence are from 2012.  More than 65,000 domestic violence offenses were reported in New Jersey that year, with more than 3,600 in Burlington County -- including one fatality.
