SPCA Announces Dog Found With Shackle Embedded In Neck Has Been Adopted

DARBY, Pa. (CBS) --  The Delaware County SPCA announced that an emaciated dog who was found with a shackle embedded in his neck exactly two months ago has been adopted.

Back in June, the SPCA says the friendly 8-10 month old male dog was found in Darby emaciated, with a shackle lodged in his lower neck.

The SPCA said the dog named "Trooper" weighed about half of what he should.

Trooper underwent emergency surgery to remove the shackle and reconstruct his neck.

Now, two months to the day, the SPCA says Trooper has a new "leash" on life and a new family. He was adopted by David Byrd.

Who doesn't love a happy ending?
