PSPCA: 19 Dogs Rescued From Lancaster County Home
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Pennsylvania SPCA says it has rescued 19 dogs from a farm in Lancaster County for several violations including unsanitary confinement.
The SPCA credits a tip received by Pennsylvania Bureau of Dog Law which led them to the discovery.
Officials say this is the second rescue at the property in four months. Back in December, the PSCPA Humane Law Enforcement rescued 62 cocker spaniel mixed dogs from the residence for unsanitary confinement.
The most recent seizure was due to a violation of a court order from the earlier case that restricted her from owning more than one spayed/neutered dog for 90 days from the court date for each count.
Back in February officials say Barbara Dienner pleaded guilty to 62 counts of summary animal cruelty.
"Unfortunately it does not appear that the previous charges and penalties were a sufficient deterrent for Ms. Dienner. Too often in our work we find repeat offenders," said Pennsylvania SPCA CEO Jerry Buckley.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
