Floodwaters Catch Drivers By Surprise In South Whitehall Township

SOUTH WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- Rising floodwaters caught drivers by surprise in South Whitehall Township early Friday morning. The water got up to the hoods on at least two cars.

The incident happened on Route 309 at Village Road.

Officials tell Eyewitness News the drains were covered by ice and snow, which prevented the rainwater from properly draining.

The cars needed to be towed off the road.
