South Jersey Pastor Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Female For Several Years

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- Police in Gloucester County say a pastor has been charged with sexually assaulting a 21-year-old female.

Authorities say 64-year-old James E. Simmons Jr., of Franklin Township, turned himself in to police on Wednesday.

Officials say the female told police the abuse started when she was 17 and continued for several years.

Police say they obtained a warrant for Simmons and his bail was set at $150,000 full cash.

Authorities say he has been charged with sexual assault, criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child.
