Facebook Updates Its Messenger App

Facebook has updated its Messenger app for iOS. New features include the ability to create groups and forward messages.

Users can group people that they want to message in a single thread and even assign them a name, such as "Family" or "Colleagues."

The app also includes a forwarding feature, that allows users to send conversations or images to their Facebook contacts, even if those contacts weren't a part of the original message thread.

The Facebook Messenger app allows users to message Facebook friends without having to open the social network's full app.

Facebook Messenger for iOS is available as a free download from the App Store.

Twitter Nielsen Expands Partnership

Twitter is expanding the reach of its TV rating service with Nielsen.

The social network has announced plans to launch in Australia later this year. Nielsen's Australian connected consumers report 2014 found that forty-four percent of the online population in Australia participates in social TV conversations.

The service adds a range of Twitter metrics related to TV shows to Nielsen's existing TV ratings data and is targeted at the advertising and media industry.

Rdio Now On Chromecast

Rdio has added support for Google's Chromecast dongle, letting you stream music directly through your TV.

Music fans can access Rdio's catalog of over 20 million songs or start a station easily. Rdio says the new feature is easy to use and users won't have to learn anything new.

Chromecast works with Android tablets and smartphones, iPhones, iPads, Chrome for Mac and Chrome for Windows.

The integration also supports displaying album art on your big screen.

Jelly Updates App

Jelly, the app that helps people answer each other's questions, has updated its iOS app with new tools for posing and explaining problems.

In the latest version, users can now create a new question using a map and a specific location. Likewise, when users respond to someone else's question they'll see a new map icon alongside the link options.

The update also makes it easier to pull photos straight from Google image search. Users simply type in what they're looking for and Jelly will automatically offer a set of pictures that match their question.
