Sixers Unveil New Uniforms
By Ray Boyd
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Sixers are undergoing a drastic transformation and that transformation is now going to have a brand new look. To accompany the new logos debuted by the team earlier in the off-season, the Sixers unveiled their new uniforms on Thursday night.
The event featured several Sixers legends of the past as well as several players from the current group that will don the new jerseys. The uniforms serve to pay homage to past Sixers jerseys as they incorporate features like the stars and the "PHILA," word mark which has appeared on past uniforms.
The elements that make up the uniforms were borrowed from past team jerseys worn by players like Wilt Chamberlain, Billy Cunningham and Julius Erving.
Hopefully the new jerseys can help the current group experience the success those names above did.
