Sixers Host Toronto, Look For Second-Straight Win
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The 76ers will be back home on Friday night as they host the Atlantic Division-leading Toronto Raptors.
Last time out on Wednesday night, the Sixers picked up their first road win against an Eastern Conference teams since November 1st, as they beat the Knicks in New York, 110-106. It was a great game for Evan Turner as he finished with a career high 34 points in the win, adding 11 rebounds.
That victory improved Philadelphia to 14-28 on the season, they are 7 1/2 games behind the Raptors, who happen to be the only team in this division above .500 with a record of 21-20. They are led by shooting guard DeMar DeRozan, who is averaging 21.8 points a game.
This will be the third match-up between the Sixers and the Raptors this season. Toronto won the first two, grabbing a 108-98 decision at the Center on November 20th and then beating the Sixers 108-100, in Toronto, on December 13th.
The 76ers made a minor roster move on Friday, signing seven-foot center Dewayne Dedmon to a second ten-day contract. Since inking his first ten-day deal he has appeared in five games, averaging four points, six rebounds and a block in 15 minutes per game while shooting 50% from the floor.
