Several Schools, Business Placed On Lock-out After Gunfire Erupts In Camden County

PINE HILL, NJ (CBS) – Several schools and a business were briefly on "lock-out" after a shooting in Pine Hill on Thursday morning.

Around 9:20 a.m., police responded to the area of the Timberline building in the Chalet Gardens Apartments for reports of a person shot.

Officers were told an individual was seen fleeing from the area immediately after the gunshots.

The victim, a 38-year-old male, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his back. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital for treatment.

At that point, police from Lindenwold, Clementon and Gloucester Township began searching for the person seen leaving the scene of the crime.

Several schools and a business in the area were put on "lock-out" until the area was secured.

Police later apprehended the person seen fleeing the area and the lock-out was lifted.
