The problems began at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday when power lines came down around the Ardmore station.
That left passengers stranded at 30th Street Station in the middle of rush hour.
Some took the Market-Frankford Line to 69th Street and transferred to the Norristown High Speed Line.
Others hopped on shuttle buses.
Service was restored at about 5:30 a.m. Friday.
