SEPTA Launches Etiquette Campaign In An Effort To Change Habits Of Rude Passengers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Ever had to deal with an impolite passenger while riding public transportation? Well, good news SEPTA riders, the transportation authority has launched a campaign in an effort to battle the rude commuters.

SEPTA says "Dude It's Rude" is a direct approach to get riders to think about their personal travel habits.

The campaign specifically tackles the main complaints SEPTA has received from its riders, which are taking trash with you, foul language, blocking the front aisle and seat hogging.

The operation uses mainly visual signs with minimal words.

One reads: "Dude, it's rude…Two seats-- Really?" And another says, "Dude, it's rude... Don't block the front aisle."

SEPTA General Manager Joseph Casey says,"Initial comments from our Customer Service Channels have been positive. Customers appreciate our efforts to tackle the issues that bug them such as seat hogging. We will continue to monitor customer and employee comments for feedback."
