Seminar Held For Those Looking To Rent Out Their Homes During Papal Visit

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Some homeowners in the Philadelphia area are seeing the chance to profit off the Pope's visit.

On Thursday, a rental seminar was held for those looking to do so.

The Gerber family is looking to rent out their Rittenhouse Square home for $15,000.

"It seems like it would be a nice little way to fund maybe something fun, like a vacation, or use that as like a little extra pocket cash," explains Rhona Gerber.

"It did surprise me, what some people were asking," says Julie Welker, a broker with Coldwell Banker. "But there seems to be a middle range that is not too exorbitant."

Homeowners are encouraged to talk to their accountant, attorney and insurance carrier before renting.
