Sarah Palin Cancels Trump Events After Husband Gets Severely Injured In Snow Machine Crash

PHILADELPHIA (CNN) -- Todd Palin, husband to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, was seriously injured in a snow machine crash in Alaska on Sunday night and is in intensive care, a source close to the Palin family told CNN Monday.

Sarah Palin canceled a campaign event set to take place Monday in Florida.

"Todd Palin was in a bad snow machine accident last night and is currently hospitalized. Gov. Palin is returning to Alaska to be with her husband and looks forward to being back on the campaign trail soon. Mr. Trump's thoughts and prayers are with the Palin family at this time," said a Trump campaign statement.

Palin's cancellation comes two days after Trump scrapped a rally in Chicago due to protests. The number of protesters at Trump's rallies has grown over the past couple of weeks.

The 2008 vice presidential nominee endorsed the business mogul in January.
