Saint Joseph's Drops Close OT Game To Denver
DENVER (AP) — Brett Olson hit two 3-pointers in overtime to assure Denver a 77-73 win over Saint Joseph's on Monday night.
Olson, who finished with 27 points, hit a trey to start overtime and nailed another with 16 seconds left for a 75-71 lead. Cam Griffin slammed home a dunk with three seconds remaining in the extra period to seal the victory for Denver (6-7).
Olson, who nailed 5 of 6 from long range, made 9 of 12 from the floor. Griffin and Nate Engesser finished with 15 apiece and Marcus Byrd added 12.
The Pioneers, who trailed most of the second half, closed to 65-63 when Griffin hit a jumper with 1:38 left in the game. Olson then made two free throws to tie with 42 seconds remaining and send it into overtime.
Isaiah Miles had 24 and DeAndre' Bembry added 20 for Saint Joseph's (6-5).
