Report: 'Strong Sentiment' Within Phillies That Rollins Should Be Traded
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Jimmy Rollins can not be traded without his consent. He's made it clear that he's not planning on giving that consent any time soon.
According to one report, that hasn't stopped the Phillies from having the desire to trade the shortstop, who is on track to be the team's all-time hit leader this season.
ESPN's Buster Olney reports that there is a "strong sentiment" within the Phillies organization that the team would be better off trading Rollins sooner rather than later.

Rollins said this weekend that he has no plans on consenting to a trade before he gets the hits record, and only a "disaster" would lead him to give that consent after he achieves the mark. Rollins has been consistent in saying he wants to remain with the Phillies.
New Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg benched Rollins for three consecutive Spring Training games. Rollins said that Sandberg did not tell him why he was sitting, and said it was up to the manager to tell him.
