PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- According to a report from Jeff Passan of Yahoo.com, the Philadelphia Phillies are in "serious discussions" to send closer Jonathan Papelbon to the Milwaukee Brewers.

Papelbon, 34, makes $13 million this season and he will make another $13 million in 2016, as long he finishes 48 games this year. The vesting option also includes a no-trade clause where Papelbon can block a trade to 17 teams, including the Brewers, according to Jim Salisbury.

Update: 12:35pm

Jayson Stark reports, "Just to clarify, Papelbon would waive no-trade and accept deal to Brewers but would want option guaranteed if teams agree how to split the money."
