4 Inmates Injured In Altercation At Correctional Center In Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Four inmates were injured following a stabbing inside a correctional center in Philadelphia, a Philadelphia Prison System spokesperson said.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday at the Philadelphia Industrial Correction Center at the 8300 block of State Road in Holmesburg.
Police say upon arrival, they found approximately 15 inmates engaged in a physical altercation. During the incident, four inmates received puncture wounds to the upper body.
An inmate lockdown was then ordered.
The spokesperson says the altercation involved homemade weapons.
The inmates injured were taken to Aria Torresdale and Hanhemann Hospital for treatment.
All four were released for minor superficial wounds.
There are no charges at this time and no officers were injured.
