Joel Embiid Undergoes Surgery On Friday
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Joel Embiid has suffered a foot injury over the last few days and according to he suffered a stress fracture to his right foot. He will have surgery on Friday.
Embiid's agent and mentor both confirmed the report on Thursday, first reported by ESPN.com.
Embiid, who is projected to be a top-three overall selection in next week's NBA draft, was previous dealing with back questions which forced him to miss time during the end of his freshman season at Kansas.
ESPN's Bill Simmons is reporting that Jabari Parker is now the favorite to be selected first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers, whom are scared off of Embiid because of the injury.
The Sixers own the third and 10th overall picks in the NBA Draft, which begins on Thursday June 26, 2014.
