Report: Giants Pull Offer To Jason Pierre-Paul Following Firework Incident

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul reportedly suffered a serious hand injury in a firework accident on Saturday night. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports on Monday that the Giants have pulled their $60 million long-term offer to JPP.

"The Giants do not believe a long-term offer is in the best interest of those involved at this point," the report says.

Pierre-Paul, 26, is expected to play the 2015 season under a $14.8 million franchise tag, but he has yet to sign.

As for the injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported JPP could have nerve damage, but did not lose any fingers.

On Sunday night, Rapoport reported doctors are still examining him, but the long-term effects do not seem to be serious.
