Report: Eagles' Likelihood Of Drafting QB In Top-8 Is 'Very Real'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles have reportedly worked out four of the top quarterback prospects this week, with owner Jeffrey Lurie on hand. They're not playing games.

According to BleacherReport.com's Jason Cole via "multiple sources around the NFL," there is a "very real" possibility the Eagles draft a QB in round one.

"In other words those sources believe that the efforts by the Eagles to workout players such as Jared Goff and Carson Wentz -- the top two quarterbacks in this draft and even taking a long look at Paxton Lynch -- is with the plan to go and get a quarterback in the first-round, despite the fact that the team re-signed Sam Bradford," Cole said.

Furthermore, "one of the biggest indications" of this -- according to Cole's sources -- is Jeffrey Lurie's presence.

However, Cole also reported that some sources believe this is just the Eagles "bluffing" hoping to get Chip Kelly and the San Francisco 49ers to reach on a quarterback at No. 7.

94WIP host Josh Innes believes the Eagles should do whatever it takes to get their franchise QB.

"I don't buy that last part," Innes said on Thursday 94WIP Josh Innes Show. "That's a real detailed rouse if that's what you're trying to do."

"Why would you not be interested in a quarterback if you're the Eagles?" Innes said. "The idea, right now, that this team is just completely out on a quarterback on the first eight to 10 picks is just completely bogus...I believe they're trying to get up to get to No. 2, and I do think they want Carson Wentz. And if they do, good! Go get Carson Wentz!"
