Report: Cavaliers Targeting Joel Embiid With First Overall Pick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According an ESPN.com report, the Cleveland Cavaliers are targeting center Joel Embiid with the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft.

The Cavaliers won the NBA lottery on Tuesday for the third time in four years. The Milwaukee Bucks have the second overall selection, while the Philadelphia 76ers have the third overall pick.

Embiid averaged 11.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game his freshman year at Kansas. However, the 7-foot, 250-pound Embiid, missed both the Big 12 and NCAA tournament due to a stress fracture in his lower back.

Sources tell ESPN.com that Embiid, 20, is the early favorite to go first overall as long as the Cavaliers medical staff deems his back to be okay.

The NBA draft is on June 26th.
