Beasley Reece: Eagles Are One Win From First Place
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Sports analyst and former NFL player Beasley Reece said the Eagles win over the New Orleans Saints could be the turning point in the season that gets the team back on the track to the playoffs.
Reece, talking with Chris Stigall on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, praised quarterback Sam Bradford for his poise under pressure early in the game and urged fans to stop overreacting to every negative outcome.

"Sam does this every week," Reece said. "Usually in the second half, after some early struggles. He did it again. Early in the the game, two interceptions at a time when you shouldn't do it, but then he turned it around. What I like about Sam is he doesn't panic. What I don't like about Eagles fans is we do panic. What if Bradford had panicked after getting off to a slow start. I think that's a lesson for all of us."
After all the turmoil of the first month of the season, he says the team is right where they need to be.
"Guess where we are folks? If the Eagles beat the Giants Monday night, next game up, they're in first place after all of us [were] standing on the edge of the Walt Whitman Bridge trying to decide whether or not we should jump."
Reece also praised running back Ryan Mathews for his role in creating a viable rushing attack.
"This guy was a talented guy in San Diego," Reece said. "He was targeted first and then when, [Demarco Murray], the rushing leader from last season became available, in the business side of Chip, the GM side of Chip, he brought him in too. Guess what? I'm glad they're both here."
