6 Cited As Protestors Call On Governor Corbett To Reverse Education Cuts

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Six protestors were arrested at a demonstration in front of the Comcast Center in Center City Monday evening.
The demonstration started at the Union League at 4 p.m., but protesters marched to the Comcast Center to call on Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett to reverse cuts to the education budget. Corbett was attending a fundraiser inside with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
"It's that idea that we're here to educate, and we can't do it. Our hands are tied in a lot of places. And when our hands are tied, the kids are losing out," a teacher said in an interview with CBS 3.
"I'm hoping the outcome is two-fold. That he understands that we are not supporting him and that the city of Philadelphia understands that we need to support somebody else," a protestor said in an interview with CBS 3.
Philadelphia Police say the six protestors were charged with a summary offense for obstructing the roadway, and all were released.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is the Chairman of the Republican Governors Association, which sponsored tonight's private fundraiser for Governor Corbett.
