Popular Clothing Chain Under Fire For Controversial Flag T-shirt
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A popular clothing retailer has come under fire for a t-shirt sold in many of its stores.
The PacSun shirt, which featured an upside-down American flag, sparked controversy over Memorial Day weekend.
Flying the flag upside-down is considered a distress call.
One supporter of the shirt asked on social media, "Can anyone argue our country is not in distress?" but others found the t-shirt disrespectful.
Yes @PacSun u have the right to show America how much u hate it, true, but we have the right to never buy ur garbage again. Good luck #PacSun

Who in #pacsun thought an upside down flag was a great idea? It's offensive.

In a statement reportedly posted online, PacSun pulled the shirt "out of respect for those who have put their lives on the line for our country."
