PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It's surveillance video that's left even detectives shocked.

Now a man is in the hospital after he was mowed down Saturday outside of a Northeast Philadelphia Dunkin' Donuts by a woman who police say may have been having a bad day.

"We are seeing an escalation in anger and obviously we can't have these people out here weaponized in vehicles and mowing people down," Philadelphia police Lieutenant Dennis Rosenbaum said.

Surveillance images show the suspect at the Dunkin' Donuts on Roosevelt Boulevard, near Welsh Road last Saturday, in Northeast Philadelphia. She appears to be wearing medical scrubs in this newly released surveillance video.

Police say she argued with a 29-year-old man outside the shop, and later got in her car and ran the man over.

Eyewitness News was told the man was part of a group blocking the entrance to the store and that may have caused the driver to snap.

He suffered serious injuries. The suspect got away south on the boulevard.

"No one ever thought you're going to weaponize a vehicle and use it to mow a pedestrian down," Lieutenant Rosenbaum said. "She could've hit several other pedestrians. It looks like at the very last second, someone said something and they all kind of got out of the way."

Police have impounded the car but they say the vehicle is owned by a man who will not cooperate. The owner could face criminal charges.

With a temper that short, police are eager to get the suspect off the streets.

If you recognize the suspect, please call police at 215-686-8477.
