Police: 1 Arrested In Connection With Double Shooting Following Laundromat Altercation In Nicetown

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police announced a woman has been arrested in connection with a shooting following an altercation in a Laundromat in the Nicetown section of the city.

Police say Monday evening, two women, ages 27 and 24, were at the Laundromat located on Fox Street and Roberts Avenue.  While at the location, authorities say the 27-year-old was confronted by four females and a verbal altercation ensued.

Police say during the confrontation the victim's windshield of her Ford Chevy Trail Blazer was broken.

After the altercation, officials say the dispute moved to the 2600 block of Roberts Avenue. The 27-year-old arrived in her Trail Blazer and the 24-year-old arrived with her two children, ages five and three, in the backseat of her Ford 500.

Police say the suspects also arrived in two vehicles, a Ford Explorer which was occupied by a 30-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl, and another vehicle which was occupied by the alleged shooter, Lashanda Anderson, and another unidentified female.

Officials say the 27-year-old victim left her vehicle and confronted the 30-year-old about what happened to her windshield. The victim then heard gunfire from behind her and police say she turned around and saw Anderson firing in her direction. Authorities say she was shot in both of her legs.

The 24-year-old victim told police when she turned onto the 2600 block of Roberts Avenue her vehicle was blocked by the other two cars being driven by the suspects. Police say she saw Anderson and another female with a gun standing next to her. The unidentified female began firing shots into her vehicle and she sustained a graze wound to the left side of her head, according to police.

Authorities say the victim was able to flag down a police officer. She told the cop that she was shot and pointed to the suspect who was allegedly attempting to flee the scene in the Ford Explorer.

Police say the other vehicle, which was driven by the unidentified second shooter, had already left the area.

The officer was able to stop the Explorer occupied by the 30-year-old female, Lashanda Anderson and a 13-year-old girl.

Officials say Anderson was identified as the person that shot the first victim in her legs. They say she was also standing with the unidentified shooter.

Police say Anderson is charged with one count of Attempted Murder, four counts of Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault and related offenses.

Both shooting victims were taken to Temple Hospital in stable condition.
