Police: Wilkes-Barre Man's 4th Of July Celebration Involved Gasoline Bomb
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) — A northeast Pennsylvania man is jailed after police say he tried to celebrate Independence Day with a gasoline bomb.
Police say James Graziano was carrying a can of gasoline and telling people he was making a bomb while walking Saturday near the Half Circle BBQ Restaurant in Wilkes-Barre.
Witnesses told police Graziano lit the gasoline in a field behind the restaurant. Police say the 51-year-old admitted attempting to make a bomb but that it wouldn't blow up.
Police say they also found small amounts of marijuana on Graziano. He says he found the drugs and wanted to turn them in but couldn't reach 911.
Graziano was charged with possessing incendiary devices, among other charges. He's jailed in lieu of $3,000 bail. Online court records didn't list a lawyer for him.
