Police Warning Of Ongoing Donation Scams In Delaware
DOVER, Del. (CBS) – Delaware State Police are warning of scams that are occurring all throughout the state.
Police are warning of scammers who are making phone calls requesting donations to benefit police, EMS, etc., with no formal organization identified.
Troopers are advising if you receive a call like this, get the caller's phone number and address, check the facts and Google the company mentioned.
If you believe it's a scam, troopers say just hang up the phone.
Police say these scams are difficult to investigate and to follow the above tips so you don't become a victim.
