Police: Suspect Opens Fire On Port Richmond Toys R Us
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say an apparent attempted robbery ended with a suspect firing a gunshot into a toy store in Philadelphia early Monday morning.
The incident happened at about 6:30 a.m. at the Toys R Us located at Aramingo Avenue and Ontario Street in the city's Port Richmond section.
According to investigators, the suspect attempted to enter the store, but was denied by employees. Police say the suspect then fired at least one gunshot into the store's glass front door.
The suspect then ran away from the scene.
It is believed that the suspect was attempting to rob the store.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Police are hoping surveillance video will help aid them in their search for the gunman.
