Police Seek Extra-Large Man Who Robbed Two Drugstores in Suburbs

By Brad Segall

LANSDALE, Pa. (CBS) -- Police in two suburban Philadelphia communities are hoping to take an armed drugstore bandit off the streets before he strikes again.  And they're asking for help from the public.

Two Walgreen's pharmacies have been held up in the last three weeks -- the first on June 23rd on West Main Street in Lansdale (Montgomery County), the second on July 14th on York Road in Warminster (Bucks County).

Police believe the same man is responsible for both robberies, and they say he shouldn't be hard to miss: he's described as six feet tall and could weigh between 300 and 350 pounds.  According to police, he has visible tattoos on his right arm.

In both cases, police say, he walked into a store full of customers in the afternoon, headed to the pharmacy counter, and showed a handgun.

The employees gave him an unknown quantity of prescription painkillers.   No injuries were reported in either incident.

Warminster police believe their suspect was driving a gold-colored sedan.

Warminster police are asking that anyone with information to call them at 215-672-1000.  They add that callers may remain anonymous if they wish.
