Police Searching For Brass Knuckle-wearing Robbery Suspect

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Philadelphia Police Department is searching for a suspect wearing brass knuckles who robbed a mobile phone store in Lawndale.

On New Year's Eve, Dec. 31st, at 1:19 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at A-Mobile located at 6347 Rising Sun Avenue.

Once on location, two employees said an unknown male wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up had entered the store demanding money and cell phones. The employees also said the male appeared to be hiding a handgun up his sleeve and that he displayed brass knuckles.

One of the suspects reportedly walked behind the counter and grabbed one of the employees by the neck before handing him a brown bag and demanding the employee fill the bag with cash and cell phones.

The suspect then began striking the employee in the back of the head with an unknown object, which resulted in a struggle.

The suspect then fled the store on foot and was last seen on Levick Street. Detectives were able to get access to surveillance video that showed a person of interest at another cell phone store on Rising Sun Avenue. Officers believe the person in the video is the same one who robbed the A-Mobile store.

The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build who was wearing a black jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. He was also wearing brass knuckles and appeared to be armed with a handgun.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call police.
