UPDATE: SWAT Standoff Ends in Pitman
PITMAN, N.J., (CBS) – A SWAT standoff has ended in Pitman, Gloucester County after a man was barricaded inside of a home.
Pitman Police responded Tuesday to a home near near Columbia Avenue and Delsea Drive.
Police then summoned the Gloucester County Special Weapons and Tactics Team which negotiated with the barricaded man until his voluntary surrender shortly before 8 p.m.
Investigators say the man was taken to the hospital.
A decision on whether charges will be filed is pending.
The Gloucester County Emergency Response Team, the Pitman Fire Department and officers of the New Jersey State Police assisted in the incident.
The American Red Cross also responded to provide canteen services to emergency personnel.
