PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- UPDATE: Philadelphia police have charged the husband of Connie McClain-Murray in connection with her death.

After spending most of the night questioning him, police have charged 48-year-old Christopher Murray, the slain jogger's husband. Around 10am Sunday morning, detectives revealed that Murray confessed to the crime and has been charged.

Confirmation of the arrest and charges came from a police spokesperson. Police will hold a news briefing later today at police headquarters to detail their findings.

Connie McClain-Murray went for a jog Monday night and then never returned home. She was found dead the next morning near Pennypack Park.

On Friday morning, the reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murder reached $50,000.

Police have spent the past several days in Pennypack Park searching for clues to find the person responsible for McClain-Murray's death. They combed through the area overnight in hopes of finding her cell phone.

The wife and mother of two went jogging on Monday night, and when she did not return home, her family called police. By Tuesday morning, her body was discovered at Holmes and Convent Avenue near a cemetery. Autopsy results show McClain-Murray tried to fight off her attacker. The autopsy showed she was strangled.

Neighbors say they are on edge. "It is scary, I mean we're used to being able to leave the door opened and now you think twice," said a neighbor.

"It's very scary," agreed another woman in the neighborhood, "because we walk down there with the kids and it is just so close to home and it is unbelievable."

Connie McClain-Murray's viewing is scheduled for Sunday night. Her funeral is Monday morning.
