Police Officer Injured In Crash In West Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia Police officer was injured in a crash overnight when he swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway.
It happened around 3 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Bryn Mawr and Parkside Avenues in the city's Wynnefield neighborhood.
Police say when an animal ran in front of the officer's cruiser, he swerved to avoid it and struck a pole.
He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The 45-year-old officer is a 20-year veteran of the police force.
