Suspect Allegedly Shoots Man Then Flees In Taxi Cab In West Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating a bizarre shooting in West Philadelphia that happened Tuesday morning.
Authorities say around 10:46 a.m., police responded to Palm and Ogden Streets for reports of a person shot.
Upon arrival, police say a man in his 20s was found shot twice in the left torso. That man was taken to Presbyterian Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
Police say they believe the suspect is a black male dressed in all black clothing who was a passenger in a brown taxi cab.
Authorities say after the shooting, the suspect allegedly then fled the scene in the same cab.
Belmont Academy was briefly put on lockdown, but that was lifted around 11:30 a.m.
An investigation is ongoing.
