Police Investigate Unprovoked Shooting

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating an unprovoked shooting after a man was shot in the foot Sunday.

It happened around 2:50 a.m. at the 5300 block of Duffield Street in the Frankford section of the city.

The victim said he was ringing a door bell at his friends apartment when an unknown black male began shooting at him.

The offender fired approximately 12 times, striking the victim in the right foot.

Authorities say the was taken to Einstein Hospital where he was treated and then released.

The investigation is ongoing.
