Police: Inert Grenades Found At Kensington Thrift Shop

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say two inert grenades garnered a heavy police response at a Philadelphia thrift shop.

An employee at Village Thrift in the city's Kensington section found the grenades inside a plastic bag around 9 a.m. Saturday and called 911.

Investigators quickly determined the devices had been hollowed out and weren't a threat.

Traffic was briefly closed in the area as the scene was cleared.

It's unclear how the devices ended up in the thrift shop.
