Police ID Suspect In Attempted ATM Skimming In Evesham
EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) -- Evesham Township Police have identified a suspect they say installed a device onto an ATM machine that is designed to steal people's debit card information.
Evesham Township Police say they are searching for 22-year-old Lance Lindaberry of Medford, New Jersey.
Investigators say Lindaberry is the man responsible for installing the "skimming" device and a camera onto an ATM at a Bank of America branch in Evesham on April 26th. (See Related Story)
Police say the device was quite sophisticated; a small electronic device over the card slot, and then a small pin-hole camera to record customers punching in their PINs.
The device was placed on a Bank of America ATM in Evesham, and investigators say it was only in place for a few hours, as an alert customer noticed a wire and alerted officials. They say that customer potentially prevented thousands of dollars from being stolen.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Lindaberry's Tuckerton Road house and an arrest warrant has been issued.
