Many Anxious Parents After Police Call Death Of Baby At Day Care Suspicious

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police say the death of a baby who was found unresponsive at a North Philadelphia child care facility is suspicious and parents who take their children there have more questions than answers.

Police say the 10-month-old girl's uncle arrived at the daycare center around noon Wednesday to find staff members performing CPR on the baby.

He immediately drove the child to nearby Temple Hospital where she was pronounced dead about 45 minutes later.

Frenzied parents rushed to the day care center after hearing the news.

Tasha Harris has two children at the center.

"They're not telling me nothing just that it's an investigation," Harris told Eyewitness News. "They've been here since birth one is two the other is 4... just shocked."

And they're hugging their children more tightly now on the heels of such a loss.

"They take very good care of my children...I have no problem sending them here at all," parent Channel Saunders-Green said.

There's still no word on what caused the baby's death.
