Police: 2 Shootings in 9 Minutes Leave 2 Dead in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating two homicides in Philadelphia Monday night.

The first shooting happened at 9 p.m. at the 600 block of Franklin Place in Spring Garden.

Philadelphia Police say a 22-year-old man was shot multiple times in the back.  He was rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital by police where he was later pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made at this time.

There is no word on a motive.

At 9:09 p.m., officers responded to a shooting inside a vacant property at the 3300 block of Amber Street in Kensington.

Police say a 35-year-old man was shot at least once in the chest.  He was rushed to Temple University Hospital by police where he was later pronounced dead.

There is no word on an arrest or a motive.

Both homicides remain under investigation.
