Pilot, Passenger In Lindenwold Plane Crash Identified

LINDENWOLD, N.J. (CBS) -- The pilot and passenger on board the small plane that crashed in Lindenwold, N.J. yesterday afternoon have been identified.

Officials identified the pilot as 66-year-old Wayne Gilchrist of Marlton. Authorities say he suffered severe facial lacerations from the crash that required a large number of stitches. He is currently listed in stable condition.

Officials identified the passenger as 73-year-old David Misek of Cherry Hill. Misek suffered a broken hip from the crash. Authorities say he is scheduled for surgery and is currently listed in stables condition.

Accident investigators obtained Misek's statement on the crash. According to Misek, the plane experienced an unknown mechanical issue just prior to the crash. The official cause has not been determined.

Investigators have not been able to obtain a statement from Gilchrist at this point due to his injuries.

Police say the plane is expected to be removed from the crash site at some point today.
