Philly Soccer Show: Union Midfielder Maurice Edu Discusses His Rehab
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It has been a long time coming, but Philadelphia Union midfielder Maurice Edu has finally made it to the field in 2016. And he is the guest on the KYW Philly Soccer Show.
Edu, who is recovering from a leg injury that has kept him sidelined all season, talks with KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page Mike Servedio about his rehab.
He played on Sunday for Union's USL affiliate Bethlehem Steel, marking his first action since last season. Edu says his goal is to make it back the big club this season and help in the Union's push for the playoffs.
Then Greg and Mike talk about the Union's ugly 3-0 loss on Saturday to the Fire in Chicago. Philly had a couple key players missing, with keeper Andre Blake and Alejandro Bedoya both away on international duty. They have to gear up as the Didia Drogba-lead Montreal Impact visit Talen Energy Field.
