Philly Soccer Show: Strike Concerns Cloud The Start To MLS Season
By Greg Orlandini
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Will MLS season start on time? And if it does, will the Philadelphia Union be ready? These are the questions we try to answer on the KYW Philly Soccer Show. KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch are first joined this week by Union head coach Jim Curtin. The team has just wrapped up its training camp in Florida, winning the IMG Suncoast Pro Classic preseason tournament. He talks about the some of the positives that came out of preseason and some of the things the team needs to work on as the season is set to begin.
And that takes us to the second part of the show, the cloud of an MLS players strike. Local labor attorney Steve Holroyd returns to give his insight into the ongoing labor dispute between the players and owners. Steve discusses where some of the negotiations are right now, and where things might go from here.
