Philly Soccer Show: Philadelphia Union Face Tough Test In Portland
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Union have a tough test as they hit the road for Portland this weekend, and the KYW Philly Soccer Show gets you ready for it.
KYW's Greg Orlandini and Mike Servedio from the Philly Soccer Page talk with Jamie Goldberg, Timbers beat writer for the Oregonian.
Goldberg talks about the how injuries and a poor road record have led to an up and down season for the defending MLS Cup champions as the push for a playoff berth. We also talk with Jamie about how the Timbers match up against the Union.
Then Greg and Mike go over the Union's disappointing 1-1 draw against Montreal. It was a slow, grinding match played in the heat at Talen Energy field.
Tranquillo Barnetta provided one of the few bright spots for the home team with his brilliant first half goal to but the Union ahead. But the team from the Great White North did enough to hang around and nicked the equalizer late in the second half.
The team has five games left in the 2016 regular season with three of those on the road.
