Philly Soccer Show: Ethan White Joins The Union
By Greg Orlandini
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) –- One of the newest members of the Philadelphia Union stops by the KYW Philly Soccer Show. Defender Ethan White joins KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch.
White comes to he Union from DC United in exchange for fellow defender Jeff Parke.
In today's show, White talks about the heated rivalry between the two teams and the fact that he expects to compete for a starting spot on the back line that is long on youth but a bit short on experience.
And he says he is no stranger to many of the Union players, competing with them in US youth program.
-----
After a flurry of activity from the Union, it has been a bit quiet after last week's MLS Super Draft (see related Philly Soccer Show story).
We discuss some of the possible lineups and formations the team could use this year with some of the new players they have brought into the squad.
And, as we were taping, we received late word via Twitter from ESPN soccer analyst Taylor Twellman that Union CEO Nick Sakiewicz whisked away to Stoke-on-Trent, England, to finalize the deal for US international midfielder Maurice Edu. Stay tuned!
