Philly Soccer Show: Curtin Discusses Union's Recent Good Form
By Greg Orlandini and Eli Pearlman-Storch
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - He's a Philly-area native and now he is in charge of his hometown club. Interim Philadelphia Union head coach Jim Curtin is the guest on this week's KYW Philly Soccer Show. The Oreland native talks with KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page's Eli Pearlman-Storch. Curtin discusses the team's recent good play, with 3 wins in the US Open Cup, which earned them a berth in the semifinals against FC Dallas, and a 1-1 record in MLS play.
Curtin also talks about some possible signings for the team, with Jamaican forward Brian Brown set to arrive soon as well as the possible return of former captain Carlos Valdes. The Colombian defender was on loan the last two seasons to Santa Fe in Colombia and San Lorenzo of the Argentine league and played one game for his country in the World Cup this year.
Then Kevin Kinkead of CBS 3 and soccer.ly joins the talk. We continue the Union discussion and then talk some World Cup, as this weekend's final is set between Germany and Argentina.
